Large, brilliantly transparent crystals of blue celestite. A few large crystals have prismatic faces and chisel-shaped tips. This specimen has a bright, rich color, unlike the bluish-gray color common in this region. Completely finished crystals with highly reflective, vitreous luster surfaces from the Sankoany Deposit in Ketsepy, Mahajanga Province, Madagascar. Celestite Stone Mass 220 g
Celestite stone, which has an easily fragile structure, consists of strontium, sulfur and oxygen.
Celestite, with a hardness of 3-3.5 on the Mohs hardness scale, should not be exposed to direct sunlight. This gemstone, with its irregular fractures, is most commonly used in its natural form. It is quite difficult to work, and should not be handled delicately.
Celestite stone is derived from a Latin word meaning "heaven".
For this reason, it is also called the Cannet stone or the divine stone.
